Snakes, children, education and travel – these four words sum up the origin and idea of this book series for author Chris Drew and his family.

Born in South Africa and trained as a journalist, Chris moved to his new home Australia at the age of 24. He immediately discovered the wonders of Australian reptiles, especially snakes, and reinvented himself. For over a decade he has been smitten with herpetology, a licensed snake catcher and school teacher in Queensland and New South Wales. But since arriving in the plentiful ‘land-down-under’, he wondered how he could share his love for all these things with readers - young and old, in Oz and abroad. He discovered the answer: Tell stories - snake stories packed with learning, suspense, great pictures and adventure!

Chris has travelled Australia with his wife, Kerry-Lee and four children, where they met many snakes and other reptiles out and about. He still relocates snakes during school holidays and is learning more and more about these mysterious creatures every day. This series - Moe, Ray and Leah’s Adventures - is his way of taking others along on the experiences he is so blessed to enjoy.
